Welcome to the blog!

Hey all!

So I thought I would launch a blog because sometimes, a post just isn't enough. I usually have a lot more to say than what a caption can offer. Plus, I am busy with clients managing their social media so I knew I needed to change my strategy. One thing I love about being a creative entrepreneur is that I have the freedom to switch up my strategy when I need and want to.

What is Strategy?

One simple definition of strategy is "a general plan to achieve one or more long-term or overall goals under conditions of uncertainty." How does this apply to social media? Well, a solid strategy ensures you are keeping authentic and intentional with the content you put out there despite the constant algorithm changes. It means having a clear idea and solid goal for what you want to say, how you say it and when you say it on any social media platform. A strategy needn't be complex it can be simple but there are 5 elements that I include in a strategy.

The 5 Elements of Strategy

VISION

Your overall vision for what your business is trying to accomplish. Think of your Bigger Picture for your customers and society. Having a vision that isn't necessarily attached to a figure will help you to keep going when the numbers drop. Entrepreneurialism is not a stable increasing line on a graph. It looks more like a mountain range. So define the vision for your brand.

MISSION

Again, having a larger mission your brand is trying to accomplish will motivate you to keep moving, make changes, and have an open mindset in terms of strategy. A mission is the change your brand wants to make or the influence you want to have within your brand's community.

OBJECTIVES

Goals you want to set for your brand. They can be immediate or future goals, little or large or a combination of both. Your brand needs SMART objectives, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely.

APPROACH

Deciding the best approach to share your content for a campaign. Will you offer a course, an eBook or physical product and which way is the best way to share your campaign? Will it be by blog, reel, story a static post or carousel or an email campaign?

EXECUTION/REVISION

Included in your strategy should be the follow through and then reviewing how your content performed. This includes looking and reviewing your insights, paid promotion reports and sales figures.
